RG14-24 (wide)
Sweet grass, found stone, waxed linen thread.
3” x 4.5” x 6.5”
Up on the Porch Roof, Portland, ME
This small, wide cantilever holds the possibility of form in art. As I have experienced over and over (yet, seem to still need the lesson), the work will be what it will be. And that I must simply keep going, keep working, to find the result. Of course, I do not typically know what the result will be. In the case of this piece, flipping the piece over reveals a wonderful “second” work, a stone held carefully by the coiled sweetgrass - to me it feels like a cloaked figure, holding some mysterious knowledge beneath its fine, woven robe.
Enjoy your day!!
