Fat Pony
Paper mache animal, 14.5" x 8.5"
Up on the Porch Roof, Portland, Maine
This pony is made with a wire structure, covered in newspaper and paper mache. The color comes from a layer of applied tissue paper cut into small rectangles and squares. The newsprint that reads through like a ghost speaks to the making process. Once the color is added, a few coats of Modge Podge gives the piece a slight shine, and a clear finish.
In this piece I was interested in capturing the animal in action.
