2516-WG (twine)
Sweetgrass, found willow, waxed linen thread, artificial sinew (coiling, drilling, stitching)
7 x 7 x 18 in
Here, I shaped a woven vessel around two found wooden branches, forcing them to cross, press, and reemerge—the basket yields without breaking, holding the wood in a state of restraint. I treat weaving as a structural negotiation in which flexibility absorbs pressure. The work sits between container and trap, asking how much force a system can withstand while remaining intact.
Enjoy your day!!
