Twining Iris

Twined around a round reed framework and secured to found sticks, this handwoven form explores the relationship among natural materials, structure, and gesture. The work balances functionality and abstraction, inviting reflection on traditional weaving practices and the quiet resilience of organic forms.
This weaving is an experiment using a variety of materials in new combinations. Where I’ve been attaching to stones and sticks with sweetgrass, this is an exploration of attaching round reed to found sticks and weaving with iris leaves.
