This basket begins from a pattern called "Elegance" by JoAnn Kelly Catsos. The basket was started on a 9" mushroom mold. The uprights are made from heartwood (darker) and the weavers are from sapwood (lighter). The rim filler is braided waxed linen.
I altered the basket's form bringing the rim in and finishing it freehand (off the mold).
